Summary:
Initiated by the Government of Serbia Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit and UNICEF Serbia in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy, mapping of social welfare services was implemented between September 2012 and February 2013. The survey was carried out by the Centre for Liberal Democratic Studies (CLDS). The objective of this mapping research was primarily to collect data on the existing non-institutional social welfare services within the mandate of local governments and to discuss present dilemas and provide recommendations.
The social welfare services mapping study will provide better overview of this services with respect to (1) availability, efficiency and quality of services provided; (2) better insight into service sophistication, prevalence and sustainability; (3) analyses and proposals for enhancing service provision; and (4) identifying potential challenges of further development of local social welfare services.
