Boris Begovic
is the former President of CLDS and professor of economics at the School of Law, University of Belgrade. He received his education at the University in Belgrade, London School of Economic and JFK School of Government, Harvard University. His field of expertise includes industrial organization, economics of regulation/antitrust, economics of public utilities, urban economics and economic analysis of law. He maintains intensive academic contacts with the leading UK and USA universities. Dr Begovic was a chief economic adviser of the Federal Government of FR Yugoslavia 2000-2002, mainly involved in negotations with IFIs, WTO accession and foreign trade liberalisation, and foreign debt rescheduling. He took an active part in governmental task forces on new legislation on privatisation and telecomunications in Serbia. As a consultant he has been involved in numerous consulting projects in Serbia and surrounding countries in various real sector industries, including public utilities. He published numerous articles in international and domestic journals and two books: Economic Approach to Optimal City Size (1991) and Economic of Town Planning (1995).
 




Boris Begovic je bivši predsednik CLDS-a i profesor ekonomije na Pravnom fakultetu Univerziteta u Beogradu. Doktorat je stekao na Univerzitetu u Beogradu, a usavršavanje je nastavio na London School of Econoimics i JFK School of Government, Harvard University. Oblasti njegovog profesionalnog interesovanja su industrijska organizacija, ekonomika regulacije i antimonopolska politika, ekonomika infrastrukturnih grana, urbana ekonomika i ekonomska analiza prava. Održava stalne akademske kontakte sa vodecim univerzitetima u Velikoj Britaniji i SAD. Boris Begovic je bio glavni ekonomski savetnik Savezne Vlade u periodu od 2000. do 2002. godine, pri cemu su njegove aktivnosti bile koncentrisane na pregovore sa medunarodnim finansijskim organizijama, reformi spoljnotrgovinskog režima i pristupanje STO, kao i pregovore o jugoslovenskom spoljnom dugu. Ucestvovao je u radnim grupama koje su formulisane nacrete zakona o privatizaciji i telekomunikacijama. Ucestvovao je na brojim konsultantskim projektima u Srbiji i okolnim zemljama u razlicitim granama relanog sektora, uglavnom u oblasti infrastrukture. Objavio je vedi broj clanaka u medunarodnim i domacim casopisima, kao i dve knjige: Ekonomski pristup optimalnoj velicini grada (1991) i Ekonomika urbanistickog planiranja (1995).
